Priit Vanem just saw his tournament end in dramatic fashion.
He was short and jammed ace-jack, only to run into Mänd who shoved with pocket eights – and then Halme who found pocket jacks and made a quick call, covering both!
Incredible three-way action and it looked most likely that Halme would deliver two KO’s to regain the chip lead he’d previously relinquished.
However, he has run like a dog whenever pocket eights have been involved and guess what? That pattern continued. Poor Mr Halme.
The board came 5d 8s 9h Qh 4s to give Mänd a winning set and move him to over 3 million whilst Halme takes another beat courtesy of pocket eights – and Vanem was out! 7th place for Vanem and €5,430 is his juicy reward. Well played sir!
