Maxime Canevet has been rolling over the table and had nearly 40 million in chips before the following hand took place.
Julien Stropoli opened to 850,000 with [KcQc] from the hijack. Canevet three-bet to 1,700,000 from the button and Stropoli called.
Stropoli had the lead before the [5h5d4h] flop paired his opponent. Stropoli checked and Canevet checked behind.
The [2s] on the turn changed nothing for either player. Stropoli led out for 2,200,000 and Canevet quickly called.
Stropoli then found some courage and jammed for 7,600,000 after the [5s] came on the river. Canevet tanked for several minutes before Stropoli called the clock.
Canevet folded with the best hand and Stropoli showed his bluff to the table as he began collecting his newly found chips.
Canevet was still in good shape after the hand with 36 million in chips, while Stropoli moved into second place with 16 million.
