Peter Pihlstrōm Winds Up 3rd (€29,000)

It was an incredible run from Peter, who at one point had his coat in his hand, ready to leave the tournament and go watch a hockey game – his tournament life hanging in the balance.

On that hand, he managed to make a four flush to come back from the dead and what a comeback it has been…all the way to 3rd place for €38,000. His exit was unremarkable – he jammed 89os from the small blind and ran into Paul Johnson’s A-9 which hit a couple of bullets to finish him off decisively. Well played Mr Pihlstrom – we’ve had a great time following your progress.

Well that hand left Johnson heads-up with Luke Martin – Johnson with a slim lead. The pair had a quick chat about a deal. They decided to chop €40,000 each and play on for the final €9,000. One of these two men will be the new MPNPT champ.

Heads-up for glory!
