We’ve had three days of intense poker here in the Platinum Casino, Bulgaria, leading us inexorably to this moment – the final day of MPNPT Sunny Beach.
Just 13 players remain in the hunt for the trophy and it is the UK’s Grosvenor Poker qualifier Robert Bostock who leads the way – his 2.3 million stack dwarfing that of his rivals. Bostock will likely be looking to tap into the feelgood factor surrounding the English right now following the national team’s progress to the World Cup semi-finals. He is unlikely to have a serene path to victory however – the other players will be trying every trick up their capacious sleeves to unseat him.
Hopes of the MPNPT’s first female champion lie with Bulgarian Iva Lazarova. Lazarova fought through some sticky moments yesterday – down to less than a big blind at one stage. She made a remarkable recovery however, a series of double-ups bringing her back into contention and she starts the final day 7th on the chip rankings, well placed to claim one of the final table berths and create her own slice of history.
We’ll be playing down to the winner today and the action will be live-streamed from our twitch channel so you can follow all the twists and turns as the day progresses and interact with our knowledgeable commentary team. The stream will be on a 30 minute delay.
Here are the full chip counts of the remaining players:
|Robert Bostock||UK||Grosvenor Casino||2,343,000|
|Philipp Anger||Germany||Betsafe Poker Black||386,000|
We foresee an exciting conclusion to what has been a compelling tournament here in Bulgaria. We hope you enjoy the day to come! Good luck one and all – let’s find our champion!
