Marko Maher has performed with aplomb to reach the latter stages here in Vienna, but finally his attempt to win the crown has faded.
Holding Kh 9s in the big blind, he saw small blind Andrius Chmieliauskas jam on him, and decided there was too much equity in his hand to lay it down.
Chmieliauskas turned over Ah 5d, just a little sausage ahead of Maher and his small equity advantage duly held over the Jc 8s 3s 4s 7d board.
Well played Marko Maher – he wins €10,790 for his efforts over the two days.
We move ever closer to crowning our champion with just 5 players remaining.
