Two of the more experienced players in the field, Keimo Suominen and Mateusz Moolhuizen are back in the black, having seen their fortunes wax over the last level.
Mateusz Moolhuizen has had an uptick in his fortunes – the latest of his coups seeing him take some chips off Danijel Kucurski in the following hand.
Kucurski raised on the button to 1,500 and Moolhuizen made the call from the big blind. The board fell 9h 4h 3d – both players checking it down.
The turned 2d was the cue for Moolhuizen to lead out for 2,000 – Kucurski making the call.
The bricky-looking 2h on the river saw another bet from Moolhuizen for 2,600 and Kucurski looked suspicious, then resigned as he threw his holding away, leaving Moolhuizen up to a healthier-looking 42,000. Kucurski remains above his starting stack.
Suominen likewise was just taking a short hiatus to discuss his progress with friend Jari Hurri. Since we last checked in on him, he has risen to 34,000 and though he has a lot of work ahead of him, he is back in contention for his second MPNPT title perhaps.
