Picasso’s artistic run in the Battle of Malta Main Event has just ended as he was just eliminated in 10th place for €19,000.
Maxime Thien-Duc Canevet opened from under the gun for 500,000 and Andrew “Picasso” Hedley defended from the big blind.
Both players checked after the [ThKh5s] came on the flop. Picasso led out for 500,000 after the [4h] came on the turn and Canevet jammed more than covering the about 2.4 million Picasso had behind.
Picasso tanked for about five minutes even at one time apologizing to the table for taking his time. No-one complained since they knew it was a big spot for him.
He eventually made the call with [Tc9d] and got up from his seat after he saw that he had little hope left with Canevet holding [Kd9h].
The [5h] completed the board on the river and play has ended for the day with a nine-max final table to begin tomorrow at 1 p.m. CEST.
