Akenhead Clubbed Out

We’ve lost our sole November Nine-r from the tournament, at least temporarily, as James Akenhead’s final chips have evaporated.

Facing a bet of 1,200 on a board of Jc  4c  7c, Akenhead jammed his last 7,000 into the middle, snap-called by Lars Andersson behind who had an easy decision with the “above average” Ac  6c. Unsurprisingly Akenhead couldn’t match this, tabling pocket aces which was drawing dead by the turn. He picked up his coat and departed – whether planning a further bullet or not we are unsure.

Andersson meanwhile is up to 35,000 and can now tell all his friends he has officially KO’d a November Niner – a scalp most players would be very proud of. Congratulations!
