We’ve lost our sole November Nine-r from the tournament, at least temporarily, as James Akenhead’s final chips have evaporated.
Facing a bet of 1,200 on a board of , Akenhead jammed his last 7,000 into the middle, snap-called by Lars Andersson behind who had an easy decision with the “above average” . Unsurprisingly Akenhead couldn’t match this, tabling pocket aces which was drawing dead by the turn. He picked up his coat and departed – whether planning a further bullet or not we are unsure.
Andersson meanwhile is up to 35,000 and can now tell all his friends he has officially KO’d a November Niner – a scalp most players would be very proud of. Congratulations!
